DIRECT DEMOCRACY, NOT ELECTION HYPOCRISY
Over a dozen cities will join Boston in taking action for direct democracy
on Election Day!
We are acting this Election Day to create a real public debate about who
should make decisions on the issues and resources that effect our
communities; unaccountable politicians and corporations or the people in
our communities. Let's expose the undemocratic, corporate-controlled
elections that mask a system that is destroying our communities, our
environment and our freedom, and celebrate directly democratic
alternatives.
TALK:
ALL DAY: Join us giving out flyers, talking to our neighbors and
performing street theater at polling and public spaces throughout Boston.
Pick up informational flyers at Park St. T 8am-5pm or print out and copy
from: www.directdemocracynow.org or make your own.
ACT: PROCESSION
6PM: PARK ST. T STATION, BOSTON COMMON Tour of Shame and Reclamation- A
colorful procession of people and puppets will visit the site of the
Democrat
Election party to voice our outrage at their mockery of democracy
and visit places where the community has reclaimed power from the system,
where the vision of a directly democratic society is at work in reality.
CELEBRATE:
8PM-MIDNIGHT- PEOPLE'S VICTORY CELEBRATION, SPONTANEOUS CELEBRATIONS,
Jamaica Plain
David Rovics, street theater, Segue, word, dancing and food. Celebrate our
grassroots movements victory in exposing the sham election in Phillie and
LA, at the Debates and on Election Day. Celebrate community groups and
struggles that have taken back power from politicians and corporations. We
can't let the Republicrats have all the fun, besides everyone knows we
throw a better party!!! Free, All ages, No alcohol, donations gladly
accepted. Spontaneous Celebrations is located at 45 Danforth St. in
Jamaica
Plain, close to the Orange Line Stony Brook T stop
