Dear Sirs,
It's really a pity that the NYT didn't realize the importance of the
demonstrations on Oct. 3rd. Much more important than the debate inside,
which result is each time less relevant and more predictable, were the
peaceful demonstrations outside. It's quite natural, in every country, to
have a third or fourth political way. The US has this strange 2-parties
system, and an important part of the population wants to change (Ross Perot
in 1996 and Nader, now). In a country where only 50% of the population votes
and the silent masses rule, still have 5000 people protesting is something
to be proud of. It's a pity that the NYT didn't give much attention to it.
