Hey folks. Hope the first day of classes has been nothing less than smashing.
In prepping for next week's call-in day to Citibank, to shut down their application lines (this will be done with close to 30 other colleges nationwide), there's some stuff to be done. For those of you interested, I'm going to be on campus today after 12:30, probably tabling around tosc's, and talking up the campaign. Outreach, outreach, outreach. Also, for those of you who want to help draft a press release about the call-in, or write an LTE or two (force the Tech to recognize the fact that some people at MIT believe in social change), this might be a good time to do that as well. In addition, there's some first round media calls that need to be done, and if anyone wants to learn more about pitching to the press, I'd be happy to help/train you. If you can't make it today, I will also be at Tosc's at say 5:30pm for anyone else. If you're interested, show up - or call me (As I will be away from my email for the rest of the day) at 617.970.3022
Citibank is the world's most destructive bank and as a trendsetter who values their name, we have leverage here. We can have them kicked off campus in 3 weeks if we wanted. That would be a nice feather in the cap, wouldn't you say? Take care, enjoy classes.
Keep on rockin' in the (soon to be) free world.
