 		    IAP Social Justice Series Presents

                          S E X I S M  @  M I T ?
                   Thursday, January 20, 7PM, Room 2-147

   Last year, MIT grabbed national media coverage after it publicized a
   report on the status of women faculty in the School of Science ( by
   the Committee on Women Faculty in the School of Science). The study
   found that female professors in the school of science are
   systematically discriminated against in the allocation of lab space,
   salary and access to leadership positions relative to their male
   counterparts. Find out about the Committee's findings, the Institute's
   proposed remedies and the media's continuing interest in the
   study. Hear what women in other levels of the academic hierarchy at
   MIT have to say; and bring your own experiences!

   Panel discussion features:
   	* Prof. Mary C. Potter, Chair of the Committee on
   	  Women Faculty in the School of Science
   	* Prof. Robert J. Silbey, Committee on Women Faculty
   	  in the School of Science
   	* Dr. Michal Lipson, Post Doctoral Researcher
   	* Susan Buchman, Undergraduate Student
   	* Aimee Smith, Graduate Student
