Subject: Alliance Chair Quoted on Decision in Boy Scouts v. Dale

Alliance Chair Jeremy Pittman was quoted in a Boston.com article on
the Supreme Court decision in the case of Boy Scouts of America (BSA)
v. Dale. The Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that the application of
New Jersey's non-discrimination law to the BSA violated the
organization's First Amendment right of expressive association.
Thus, the Boy Scouts are free to continue their discriminatory
behavior.
Pittman was quoted saying that the BSA will "continue to feel
pressure from activists at all levels." As an Eagle Scout, the issue
of anti-gay discrimination by the Boy Scouts has always been of
concern to Mr. Pittman.
Over the coming weeks, the Alliance will be contacting Boy Scout
officials in Massachusetts to determine what actions might be
