just a reminder, that we are planning to meet tonight at 8:00pm in the Thistle
office to discuss what needs to be done for the july fourth issue. there are
a couple of important logistical things that we need to discuss so it is
really important that as many people as possible come tonight.  hope to see

3. Should CAN participate in hosting caravan's down to these two actions?

4. Getting signatures for Nader to appear on the ballot?  
-possible protest at the debates on Oct 3, if they don't allow 3rd party 
candidates?

on a side note- The Thistle is putting out a "patriot" edition on the 4th.  If 
anyone has any material, it will be welcomed.  But, it has to be gotten in my 
Monday.

RAVI CHOPRA
Peoples Science Institute, India

Dr. Ravi Chopra is the founder and director of Peoples Science Institute
of Dehradoon, Uttar Pradesh.  After completing his doctorate from Stevens
Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, he moved to India and
plunged in the task of nation building.

Under his leadership a core team of professional scientists are making
their mark on the Indian scene. They are highly regarded by the Government
& Voluntary Groups.

Dr Chopra and his team firmly believe in Peoples Initiative and Leadership
for successful development programs.   In Palamu District of Bihar his
team has done exceptionally good work with peoples participation and
developed new Watershed Management Techniques.

Presently, a team from Center For Participatory Watershed Management of
his Institute is actively working with the people of states of Rajasthan
and Gujarat to provide relief and long term solutions to the drought
problem.
	
His work in the State of Orissa for relief and rehabilitation of the
victims of the Super Cyclone is still continuing. His team made a unique
contribution by training the people in techniques of rebuilding Earthquake
Resistant Houses in Uttarkashi and Latur will prevent future losses.

Dr. Chopra is part of Nayi Azadi Andolan or the New Global Freedom
Movement based on the Mantra "From Self Transformation to Global
Transformation."
