Mahesh Mathai's debut feature film Bhopal Express is set against the backdrop
of the Bhopal gas tragedy which claimed 6,000 lives instantly and ten thousand
more perished later.

The film weaves together several real-life incidents through the two main
characters - a newly wed couple, Verma, a foreman at the Carbide plant, Tara
his wife and Bashir who is a former Union Carbide employee. The tragedy which
unfolds against the backdrop of a love story fully carries the trauma of the
ghastly tragedy.

Other star contributions to the film include the voice of Amitabh Bachchan and
performances by Lucky Ali, Ila Arun and Jagjit Singh on the soundtrack.

The film will be followed by a discussion with Rajan Sharma, Attorney
representing the Bhopal gas victims in the class action law-suit filed in the
United States.
