The New England Committee to Defend Palestine presents
"Good Fences Make Good Neighbors? Israel's New Wall"
Central Square Branch, Cambridge Public Library
45 Pearl Street
Thursday August 28th, 6:30 PM
Israelis call it a 'security fence;' Palestinians call it an 'apartheid wall.'
At a cost of $1.6 million a mile, it is now more than 70 miles long and
rapidly extending along the length of the West Bank.
In the last few months, Israel has committed major resources to this project
which will permanently change the contours of Palestinian territory. What
light does this shed on the 'Road Map'?
Through photos, video and audio reports, Noah Cohen and Bobbie Louton present
first-hand accounts of the wall that Israel has been building over the past
year.
The program will run from 7 to 9pm, but the work of Palestinian artist Samia
Halaby will be on display starting at 6:30.
