This Friday's SJC movie is also our fundraiser event for
anti-WTO demonstrations in Cancun, Mexico. (See below for details.)
The movie is free as usual, but we will happily accept donations

A Humorous Look at How General Motors Destroyed Flint, Michigan

at Flint, Michigan,which resulted in the loss of 30,000 jobs. Details=20
the attempts of filmmaker Michael Moore to get an interview with GM CEO=20=
Roger Smith.

The World Trade Organization(WTO) meets September 10-15
Global Civil Society will Take Action and Build Alternatives
Eco-village Model counters WTO in Cancun!
=46rom September 5th to the 14th, Ecological designers from the US and
Mexico will expo an Eco-village Model of practical solutions to the
Corporate takeover of food, water, energy, and land use.
This demonstration of a better possible world, a world for all
peoples and all life; will include examples of water re-use (greywater
systems),water catchment, Compost toilets, composting, food forest
gardening,community decision making, possibly integrated animal
systems, solar showers, agroforestry, worm composting and more, all
depending on available resources and local teachers.
A Pagan activist cluster from the San Francisco area, associated with
the RANT activist trainer collective

will be heading down for these actions on August 25th.=A0 Their work =
will=20
focus
specifically on trying to bring a group of incredible punks from Mexico=20=
city who do
permaculture projects and art and media projects in the slums of Mexico

ride to Cancun.=A0
The RANT activists are trying to raise $2000 altogether for them, but=20
every little
