As many of you know, folks are starting to plan fair trade coffee and
sweatshop-free clothing campaigns for the fall. Back in May, a video about Nike
workers in Indonesia was shown that struck many of us. Horrific conditions.
Several people signed up to help out.
Unfortunately, that list of names was lost in a move. If you were on that list,
or if you are now interested in participating, please send a brief msg to
<labor@mit.edu>. A probable first step is to meet with sorority, fraternity and
other student group leaders; show them the video; and provide information about
ordering sweat-free t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. We'd like to have teams of two
meet with student group reps. Training provided.
Please help bring MIT into the enlightened age. We can do it!
