SGACers,
In an attempt to both clarify and streamline the list-serves, here is
an outline of the purpose of each list-serve and general guidelines for using
the SGAC lists. Please read it carefully and then sign on to the list-serves
which seem most appealing to you. E-mail me at Shira.T.Rosenberg@williams.edu
with any questions.
Note: It is no longer acceptable to send out e-mails over multiple list-serves
(especially planning and chapters). E-mails can only be sent out over one
list, so chose carefully.
StopGlobalAIDS: will remain the lowest-volume list-serve in the campaign, and
will feature updates from the National Organizing Team and Action Alerts from
all three functional groups. We highly recommend that every SGACer be on this
list. stopglobalaids-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Action: a low-volume list that disseminates information on advocacy projects -
including action alerts and action kits, and periodic updates from each
working group. The monthly advocacy call will be announced over this list as
well. We recommend that all active members sign up to this list-serve. SGAC-
action-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Planning: a high-volume list-serve for members who want to be involved in the
shaping of the campaign; e-mails often discuss current issues and future
projects for the campaign, as well as updates about the AIDS crisis in
general. We recommend that there is at least 1 person from every school on
this list. SGACplanning-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Chapters: low-volume list for chapter members and leaders to discuss the
different aspects of running a chapter - difficulties, successful projects,
ideas for facilitating meetings. We recommend chapter leaders and members be
on this list. SGACchapters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
News: a low-volume list where people can forward AIDS-related articles. This
is a new list-serve, and will hopefully lower the number of e-mails to
planning and allow all members to keep up with relevant AIDS-related news.
SGAC-news-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Policy: a high-volume list-serve for SGACers eager to keep up with
congressional and presidential strategy. SGAC-policy-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Treatment Access: a medium-volume list for the working group dedicated to
developing campaigns to fight for universal access to drugs, especially as it
relates to trade issues. Recommended for SGACers who want to learn more or
become more involved in this area. SGAC-treatment-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Multi-National Corporation: a medium-volume list for the working group
dedicated to developing campaigns to ensure that MNCs treat their workers
worldwide. Recommended for SGACers who want to learn more or become more
involved in this area. SGAC-mnc-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Note: to unsubcribe from any list-serve, just send a blank e-mail to SGAC-X-
