(please fwd)

Hi everybody. Mobilization for Survival, the group that sponsors the Campus
Action Network, is looking for summer interns and volunteers, as well as
paid tele-fundraisers and work study students.

Mobilizaiton for Survival is a Harvard Square-based Peace and Social Justice
group that works on peace and human rights/foreign policy issues, Iraqi
sanctions, campus organizing, and community education and empowerment.
Check out our website - www.bostonmobilization.org

Volunteer

We're always looking for volunteers to help out with office work, events,
and campaigns. Work can range from data entry and mailings to graphic
design, web, and press work to event production and community outreach - you
name it, we do it.

Intern

Our internships are more structured and require more of a commitment, and
are a great way to learn organizing skills and about issues, and become an
integral part of our organizing. Interns could choose to work on
Mobilization's Campaign for the Iraqi People (CIP), the Campus Action
Network, general organizing and movement building, web and computers, etc.
We're also looking for someone to produce a newsletter for Mobilization, CAN
and possibly the CIP.

We can tailor an internship to your needs. Above all, we want you to learn
and be creative. We want to give you the space and the resources to become
as much a part of this organization as you'd like. That can include
proposing and working on your own projects (as long as it fits within our
current mission), with our assistance if you want it.

Interns should commit to 10-20 hours a week, and set designated times to
come into our Harvard Square office. Interns will also have the opportunity
to participate in "Activist Summer", a program we're developing in
conjunction with the Boston Global Action Network that will provide interns
from dozens of Boston non-profits the opportunity to meet one another,
attend organizing workshops, and learn about issues. This should be really
cool!

Work

The tele-fundraising jobs pay $8-$9 an hour (+ bonuses), and involve calling
Mobilization members and asking them to renew their membership and pledge
money to the organization. These positions require confidence and a good
phone presence. We'll train you, but if you know you wouldn't feel
comfortable doing this kind of work or aren't good with people/on the phone,
this job isn't for you. The commitment is 3-4 evenings a week (5:45-9:15
pm) from the beginning of June through mid July. Selected sessions may be
capped off with trips to the local watering hole.

We may be able to offer work study positions for tele-fundraising jobs
(which may pay more than w/out work study) and possibly internships.

Please contact us at bostoncan@hotmail.com or (617)354-0008 if you are
interested in any of these opportunities. We look forward to working with
you.

Thanks,
Roni Krouzman
