                  Fair Trade Meeting
                    Tuesday, May 6
                        12:30pm
Dome Cafe, Bldg. 7, 4th Floor

A new MIT group, Students for Labor and Economic Justice, will be hosting a
Fair Trade Coffee Break in the Student Center on Saturday, May 17 to coincide
with WORLD FAIR TRADE DAY - and the start of finals.

We've contacted a few local Fair Trade coffee companies, who have agreed to
come down and provide FREE coffee and information for our event.

**** We NEED folks to staff the table, help hang posters, etc. ****

For anyone concerned about globalization, trade, labor, equity, ecology,
poverty, sustainability, int'l development, human rights, social justice...and
ACTION! - please stop by the meeting tomorrow and get involved (or email me.)

Next semester we'll be launching a Fair Trade Coffee campaign on campus in
earnest, which will involve holding a series of events to educate students
about Fair Trade, working to build demand for Fair Trade products, and trying
to get Fair Trade coffee offered at all MIT dining establishments.

Some good sites about the coffee crisis and Fair Trade:

I hope to see you tomorrow~
Jean
