Objectively determine if it's so. i.e. ask them for their "jubilation"
photos, and then compare. You will be able to see if it's the wrong time
of day (shadows, illumination, etc.). And yes the photo is fuzzy... but
that isn't really important. It's quite obvious there are not throngs of
Iraqis involved in mass jubilation in the square in that picture.
Maybe there are at most a hundred standing around making like tin
soldiers, but I doubt it... fact is there is no way to be completely
certain those people aren't Iraqis - so play the scientist and admit it,
and get them to admit it too. (Guess we'll find out when the servicemen
return)
Not that this will likely matter to your friends... arguing about this
photo will never change anyone's opinion. It's incredible to me how
fairly intelligent conservatives have been bending over backwards during
the last several months to try and rationalize what the US has been
doing... we must make sure we don't do the same if ever (ha!) a more
progressive president is in control.
