PMWATCH - March 18, 2003 -- The Diamondback, student newspaper at the
University of Maryland, published today a shocking cartoon by student
cartoonist Daniel J. Friedman that actually makes fun of Rachel Corrie's
murder.
The cartoon can be viewed at:
http://www.inform.umd.edu/News/Diamondback/archives/2003/03/18/cartoon.html
Please do all you can to respond to this outrage. The killing of Palestinians
and their supporters cannot be treated like this. NEVER such a cartoon would
be allowed to be published about say one of the 450 settlers squatting in
Hebron surrounded by 120,000 caged Palestinians, nor about squatters in Gaza,
surrounded by a million Palestinians. Publishing such a cartoon would be
simply an unthinkable act.
An apology is in order to Corrie's memory, her parents and friends, and to the
newspapers' readership.
Send your emails to the following addresses at the Diamondback:

This is way less than the bare minimum we owe Rachel for her amazing courage.
Please act.
