Hi friends in peace,

At your meeting tonight you might consider holding the Walkout on Wednesday
(tomorrow) as a way to have our efforts change the chance of a "shock and
awe" attack against Iraq - rather than holding it once such an attack is under
way... What is the thinking on this? If only the anti-war movement could
"shock and awe"!

I would feel so much better being at MIT if President Vest and Faculty etc
came out strongly against this murderous action - has there been any contact
with President Vest on this? For some reason I feel MIT and high tech in
general are accomplices to this unless they speak out...

I'm a staff scientist in the Center for Space Research and gave notice of
taking a 'peace vacation' starting today at Noonish (in true MIT style there's
one report I want to get out before focussing on peace activities!)...

I live in western Mass so will be active out here... Best wishes to all
in Cambridge,

  - Dan Dewey
