WHERE: Student Center steps
WHY: Part of the National Student Day of Action against war in Iraq
War with Iraq? In the words of the Turkish parliament, "Not for 24 billion
dollars!"
In addition to alienating our allies, a US-led war with Iraq would further
destabilize the Middle East, take billions away from health care and
education, kill thousands of innocent civilians, and severely increase the
risk of terrorism in our own country. There is no connection between Iraq
and the events of Sept. 11 and Iraq poses no credible threat to us.
Today, March 5th, thousands of students across the country will be taking
action to show their opposition to war. Join your fellow MIT students
today at noon on the Student Center steps to say, "We will not be cogs
in the war machine!"
