Hi,
Susan Kotsonas was a janitor at Lincoln Labs employed by a contractor. She
led the walkout during the successful strike last fall. When she returned,
she was harassed by management, culminating in her firing on Jan. 17 on
false charges. Since then, she has been without pay, her employer is
challenging her right to unemployment benefits, and she has two kids to raise.
We need to let MIT know that this is unacceptable!
A coalition of MIT professors, union activists, and students are currently
drafting a letter to be sent to the VP of Human Resources at MIT. We need
as many students as possible who are willing to be signatories on this
letter. If you are willing to sign, please e-mail me ASAP and include your
MIT affiliation! The letter will be delivered on Monday, and I will send
everyone a final copy of the letter on Friday afternoon to confirm your
signatures.
Justice for janitors!
