Two MIT undergraduates and four MIT graduate students met at 11:00 am
with Administrators in the Facilities Dept. including the director,
Victoria Sirianni, Manager of Communications, Ruth Davis, and Senior
Project Manager, Hans Antonsson. The Facilities Dept. has promised us to
not destroy McDermott Court in the short term. We discussed alternatives
with them. The most viable option currently is to place the trailers
diagonally between Building 18 and the Sail (Statue). We were promised
no action would be taken with consulting with us. A meeting will be
planned for later in the week,

We also discussed that students' input in the proposed temporary and
permanent changes occurring on campus should be solicited. In addition,
communication between students and the Facilities department needs to be
improved. The Facilities Dept. is creating a new post for this very
reason. We will be discussing these issues in further meetings, but the
Facilities Dept. did suggest the idea of a Focus Group that would include
students.

Thanks for everyone's support. We will keep everyone updated. Please,
still sign the petition to let the administration know we want our voice
heard about changes taking place on campus. In addition, make sure you
enjoy McDermott Court as often as possible!
