MIT Amnesty International is showing the acclaimed 1995 film about the
death penalty. Sister Helen Prejean (Susan Sarandon) receives a letter
from death-row inmate Matthew Poncelet (Sean Penn) asking her to
visit him. She overcomes her own fears to fight for the life and soul of
Poncelet.
Directed by Tim Robbins ("Bob Roberts," "Shawshank Redemption").
Sarandon won the 1996 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in this
film.
