This is an idea my friend and I had to increase the everyday
visibility of the anti-war message. We took the example of some
stores in her neighborhood which have posted anti-war signs in their
windows, and came up with a simple way to promote that among other
small businesses.

The campaign has two parts:

1) A poster which reads "Another Business for Peace... NO WAR WITH
IRAQ" and has a graphic of a dove holding a fig leaf.

2) A sheet of 9-per-page "business cards" to hand out wherever we
shop, eat, etc. The text of the cards is "You have just been
patronized by a customer who opposes war in Iraq. Stand up for your
views-- display this sign in your window."

The cards also have a small picture of the sign, and instructions and
the URL to print it out. Or, you can also just print out the signs
and offer them directly to business owners. But the neat thing about
the cards is, they fit in your pocket so you can carry them every
day, and leave one at every business you go into.

The people at War Resisters' League in NY have agreed to host the
signs and cards on their page at:

So print some cards out when you get a chance, this is a great way to
calmly and easily make your opinion known, wherever you do business!
