Dear all,
Last week, Laura Bush cancelled a White House poetry symposium when
she learned that some of the invited poets intended to express
opposition to war with Iraq (for details, read the story here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/01/31/politics/31POET.html). In
response, poets across the country are using the originally scheduled
date of the conference -- next Weds. the 12th -- to hold poetry
read-ins for peace.
The Center for New Words is proud to sponsor one in Boston -- I hope
you'll come. Details below.
