The below message is not appropriate for the peace-announce list. From the
charter, the purpose of this list is "only for news and announcements of
peace and justice related events."
The below organization (NECDP) advocates that the continued existence of the
free and democratic state of Israel "cannot be allowed to stand", and that
"it is not our place to dictate the forms of struggle to be adopted by the
Palestinians." Given that the current form of struggle includes attacks on
innocent Israeli men, women and children, and that the Palestinian
population supports such attacks, one can only conclude that this
organization not only does not condemn such horrific violence, but at the
very least tacitly supports it.
MIT is a pluralistic campus and everyone has the right to express their
views in the appropriate forums. However, the *peace-announce* list is not
the forum for the expression or encouragement of views supporting the
destruction of a free country, or attacks on innocent civilians.
