Hi everyone - SAVE is sponsoring a Sierra Club call-in to Ford to
encourage them to improve fuel efficiency. We will be having a booth
in Stratton (W20) tomorrow with phone numbers and maybe phones.
If you'd like to help:
- Come to our booth and make a phone call (any time)
- Help sit at our booth and give out information (any time)
Thanks, Toh.
[peace-request and greens-coordinators, could you please forward this
to your respective lists?]

efficiency in Boston area!
Hey, Toh,
How are you doing? This is Karla Gilbride from the Sierra Club again. I just
wanted to touch base with you about SAVE and what people thought about this
campaign on fuel efficiency that I'm working on. What were people's
reactions when you explained the campaign at the last meeting? I don't mean
to be pushy or obnoxious or anything like that, but I just wanted to check
in with you kind of quickly to give you a heads-up that next Wednesday,
October 9, is going to be a nationwide call-in day to Ford headquarters.
Other colleges in the Boston area are going to be coordinating phone drives
on their campuses that day just using cell phones or campus phones and
asking people who pass by to make a 1-minute call to ask Ford to improve
fuel efficiency, and it would be great if MIT could join in and do something
on that day as well. I know you have your meetings on Thursdays, so if you'd
like I could stop by tomorrow and talk for a couple minutes about the
campaign and drop off some flyers and scripts for the call-ins, as well as
just meeting you guys and hearing about what else you're working on, which
I'd be really interested in. So let me know if that's cool with you guys and
where/when you meet, and hopefully I'll see you soon.
Thanks, and take care,
Karla
