Hi,
Student Pugwash will be having its first meeting of the year tomorrow:
Tuesday, September 10 at 7 in 4-144. Please join us for some free food and
a talk by Jeffrey Rosenblum of Tellus Institute in Boston on "Social
Responsibility and the UN Summit on Sustainability." If you haven't heard
of Pugwash before, we organize events that address the overlap between
science and ethics. Our goal is to promote a balanced discussion and
debate about controversial issues like sustainability, weapons of mass
destruction, and genetic engineering. After Mr. Rosenblum's presentation,
who is himself a Pugwash alum, we'll let you know more our student group
and what we're planning to do this year for anyone interested in
joining. If you'd like more information about Pugwash before the meeting,
please visit our website: web.mit.edu/pugwash or email
pugwash-request@mit.edu. Hope to see you there tomorrow!
Thanks,
Izzat Jarudi
President, Student Pugwash
P.S. If you know of any other groups that would be interested in this
meeting, please let us know or forward this email to them as well.
