Hi all,
The Social Justice Cooperative (aka peace-announce and other fun
activities) has organized a political science IAP class for the
past two years. Professor Chomsky was our faculty sponsor, and
we had many wonderful lecturers (for a sample from last year,
see http://web.mit.edu/justice/declassifythis/ ).
We intend to organizer a class this IAP (January) as well. If you
are interested in helping out, please write back to me and you
will be added to the peace-class email list.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN EXPERT TO HELP OUT!
Some ideas of topics that have been mentioned are recent US policy
and actions ...
in Colombia (Plan Colombia, the FTAA agreement
the drug war, and so on)
in Iraq (the Gulf War, our support for Saddam before,
a decade of sanctions and bombings,
the current events)
in the US (recent crackdown on Middle Eastern
immigrants and citizens, repression
of political dissent)
in the US (attacks on organized labour, Teamsters
and longshoremen)
and so on. Any thoughts?
