WHAT IS THE G8? How are local struggles affected by global financial
decisionmaking?
The G8, or "Group of 8", the world's richest and most powerful
governments, will be meeting in Alberta, Canada in June 2002. This
scretive and elitist group imposes its neo-liberal economic agenda on the
resut of us through its influence on such worthy targets as the WTO, World
Bank, and IMF.
Join us for a panel discussion with activists from the Canadian Anti-G8
caravan including Anti-Capitalist Convergence member Jaggi Singh, health
care activist Marika Schwandt, and anti-biotech activist Shannon Willmont,
as well as local Boston organizers. They will discuss the links between
local struggles and the globalization of neo-liberalism touted by the G8.
