Damn, I'm just trying to help clear everybody's
mailboxes by spreading the word. Like a friend and
a not-so-friend once said, truth infects. Now I
want to apologize personally for bothering everybody
tonight. While there's no excuse for emailing so
many lists at one time, I just don't know how to efficiently
make sure people know how apologetic I am. I wish I
could go back in time and change it all, but I can't.
I'm just a man, an imperfect human being like the
rest of you. I hope all of you forgiveness in your
hearts. You're gonna need it.
I think we all understand now that most people can
go through life without thinking about landmines, and
I hope that the other side of the discussion will
come forward and apologize for imposing on all'y'all
talk about these destructive devices. Maybe we can
all get together and have a barbecue to make amends --
like at the end of those old Rescue 911 episodes. Come
and get some of that forgiveness. You'll find your
fellow students here at MIT are forgiving, caring
creatures.
Until then, do good work and stay live. It's gonna
be a long semester.
