<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>The Boston Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) is organizing an April 4th day of action.&nbsp; We're hoping to draft a "document" in the coming weeks which we will publicize at events at each Boston-area school the week before April 4th and unveil at a city-wide rally on the 4th (choosen because it marks the anniversary of Martin Luther King's assassination).&nbsp; We will use the momentum from this event to push our respective schools' administrations to sign the "document".</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>The document will definitely contain a committment to worker's rights (i.e. paying a living wage, not outsourcing to avoid paying union wages, being responsible for worker's rights at all school property, etc.), but we are considering expanding the document to cover more basic issues.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>Are&nbsp;you interested in taking part in a citywide campaign modeled on the Justice for Janitors work (the city Master Contract for 10,000 is up for negitiation this summer, and it includes 2,000 university janitors, 145 of whom work for MIT)?&nbsp; Are there other issues which you would like to see included in our document?</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>I'll stop by the&nbsp;SJC&nbsp;meeting on wednesday, and although this project isn't&nbsp;exactly about stopping white supremacy (although there certainly is a connection), I hope no one minds if I take&nbsp;five minutes to gauge campus&nbsp;interest in this campaign&nbsp;so I can report back to SLAP later this week.&nbsp; Thanks.</DIV>
