Greetings from the American Friends Service Committee,
The Latin American Action Program of the AFSC, in
colaberation with Boston’s Latin American Action
Coalition and BankBusters, is planning a two day event
on Colombia and the IMF/World Bank on Sunday, April 21
and Monday, April 22. The program will be in
solidarity with larger events taking place in
Washington, DC the same weekend and will provide an
opportunity for those who can not make it to
Washington, DC to be involved. Sunday’s program will
consist of speakers and entertainment, followed by a
break up into smaller "workshop" groups with focuses
ranging from fumigation to the role of the IMF/World
Bank in Colombia. The event will continue Monday
afternoon in the form of a march, probably in
Cambridge, which will provide an opportunity for
people to take what they have learned to the streets.
Please mark your calendars for this event. We want
many students and student organizations involved, and
we are eager for input. If you are interested in
participating in any way, whether this means coming to
meetings, making a monetary contribution, leading a
workshop, passing out flyers at the event, etc. please
contact the Latin American Action Program at AFSC.
