I appreciate the effort of the person who compiled the "wars" list posted
yesterday to peace-list. However, if you are going to compile or
forward such a list, it is REALLY IMPORTANT that you make sure all the
facts in it are accurate.
Leonard Peltier was not executed in 1977, he was at Leavenworth last I
heard and published a book just a couple years ago.

It is quite easy for the public at large, the media, and our leaders to
dismiss those of us who stand for peace as radicals, extremist,
disgruntled folks with chips on our shoulders. The only thing we have
going for us is the facts, and when we play fast and loose with them we
discredit the wider cause.
I don't mean to be negative. Thank you for putting in the effort. In these
days of the internet it is relatively easy to fact check a story before
passing it on (and include a fact check reference to make it easy for the
next guy to do the same).
