for the benefit fundraiser A Night of Light to support:
Doctors Without Borders/ M=E9decin Sans Fronti=E8res (MSF) - AFGHANISTAN
Recipient of the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize, Doctors Without Borders'
international staff returned in mid-November to the Mazar-I-Sharif and
Herat regions of Afghanistan. MSF is providing humanitarian assistance for
Afghan children and their families. By December 1stover 50 international
staff had been placed in Herat, Mazar-I-Sharif, Taloqan, Faizabad, and
Jalalabad. Working independently from all warring parties with their
Afghan staff of 400, MSF has now vaccinated over 7,000 displaced children
in Mazar-I-Sharif and Sar-I-Pol while providing vitamin A and screening for
malnutrition. To the east, medicines are now getting to hospitals with
mobile clinics afoot. More info is available at:

A Night of Light will be held at Massachusetts College of Art's Tower
Building Auditorium, 621 Huntington Avenue, Boston (MBTA Green Line E) from
6-9:30 PM. Twenty-dollar contributions will be accepted at the door.
