Subject: leader of RAWA to speak at Lesley Univ.

"The Resilience and Hope of Afghani Women"

We invite you to a presentation by one of the leaders of RAWA, the
Revolutinary Association of the Women of Afghanistan. This is the group
that has offered resistance to the Taliban, is working to continue the
education of women in underground schools, etc. This woman, whose name is
Tahmeenah, has lectured extensively around the world and has been
interviewed by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the BBC and other
news agencies.

Lesley will be he host of a Boston area event on Monday, December 3 at 7:00
pm in our Marran Auditorium (which is off Mellen Street, in walking
distance of
the EDS campus). Our Provost's office will sponsor the talk as part of a
series of "Teach-Ins"we are providing on campus. Our public relations
people will try to announce the event in the community and also to generate
some press interest.
