Sitting rally/demonstration tomorrow at MIT:
Thursday, November 15th
Noon
Across the street from 77 mass ave.
Joined by identical, simultaneous demonstrations at over 80 campuses across
the nation.
We're calling for:
-an increase in ground-based humanitarian aid for refugees and internally
displaced persons, instead of the potentially-dangerous and totally
inadequate airdrops taking place over heavily mined territory
-a stop to the bombing, especially after the fall of Kabul. According to the
New York Times there are 7 to 8 million people in Afghanistan on the verge
of starvation as a result of their displacement by the bombings.
In recognition of the plight of refugees, bring a blanket to the
demonstration to symbolize the coming winter and bring attention to the
hunger of displaced Afghanis.
Let's prevent mass starvation.
Come Thursday.
Bring blankets, bring friends.
