Hi Everyone,
In case you missed the meeting or didn't take notes, I hope the
following will suffice. I know it looks like an overwhelming amount of
stuff going on, but on the other hand, it is testament to how much we
can do when we work together!!

Also, if you know an event that should be happening, feel free to step up
and get it going. We can support you, share strategy, info, hang some
flyers... find groups to co-sponser... paint drop-posters...

Lastly, I will take advantage of the virtual mic for a second and say,
if anyone knows hackers, I think it would be absolutely fabulous to
hack the dome with dreads to bring attention to Mumia's case.
Send me any info on how to find such devious folks...

********************MINUTES-CAN****************

CAN can and will!
MIT's chapter of campus action network is all but recognized...
just a matter of the submitted paperwork to be processed.
ASA recognition will enable access to resources, room requests, etc.

Start thinking about mobilizing for DC mid-April-- IMF/World Bank
debt reform campaign. Folks are organizing buses for the event.

Ronnie, of BU-CAN has registered domain name "BostonCAN.net'
watch that space! meanwhile, watch: http://web.mit.edu/shawking/www/

Mike Borucke and Greg Dennis are webmastering.
	Talk to them about suggestions.

Ideally we want a site tree that enables searching activist
groups by either school or category, s.a.. women's groups or
	amnesty International groups

Greg will take info about existing activist groups that
need to be linked, so please email him, gdennis@MIT.EDU
	the following info:

		Group Name:
		Address:
		Phone:
		Contact:
		Email:
		Website:

Network Women's groups: We need someone to be the gadfly that ensures
that each school collects a list of active women's groups so
we can help SOS get a multi-campus take back the night rally
for the end of April. If you think you could be this person let
me know. <alsmith@mit.edu> And, men, I am told that women find
feminist men to be both rare and highly attractive, so don't let a
few dangly organs stop you!! And no matter your gender or orientation,
Cassie Waters sounds excited to help out.

Phil brought up the concept of student solidarity between Mexico and Canada
and suggested we think of ways to get it going on a global scale:
	Cross-Continental Student Solidarity Network!
This would be a good CAN project. Talk to Phil
	to get involved: <plaroche@MIT.EDU>

BU Underground is the alternative newspaper of BU. Submit to them by ~March 19.
I think it is chided@hotmail.com, but maybe ask Phil to be sure:
	 <plaroche@MIT.EDU>
But be sure to share also with The Thistle! We believe both papers
have unrestrictive copyright (or lack of copyright) so that
	 co-publishing should be do-able.

*************Minutes--Social Justice Cooperative*****************************

Julia has plastered the world with Mumia and she and Felix got a lot of
	Diallo posters up: they rock!
If you can poster a bare area, contact: julias@mit.edu
	GO TO MUMIA EVENT!!

Paula has organized for international women's day in coalition with GAMIT,
AI, and Stop Our Silence (SOS). And thanks to her efforts and much
SOS and SJC/CAN help, we now have a beautiful drop poster to advertise
the event. I feel celebrated already! Look for the events on March 8th
and to give a hand in the final ready-making, contact: paulyh@mit.edu
Jonna has offered to bring women's collective info, etc. for the
student center table on women's day.

Gear up for Bio-devastation:
Anton is writing an article. Email him to help
	flyer <anton@lanai.mit.edu>

Martin Shaw will come give a teach in.

We will cosponsor with Technology and Culture Forum to host
Vandana Shiva on March 16th. We need to wrack our brains
about who could lead or follow her to bring in more folks
(as Shiva is highly under-rated here in the US.) Send
	ideas, suggestions to me: <alsmith@mit.edu>

Meat-Out in coalition with Vegetarian Support Group, SAVE Environmental Club,
Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, hosting
	Howard Lyman on March 14.
Download flyers for this event from:

	http://web.mit.edu/justice/www/download.html

Free Lori: SJC, AI, email Felix to get involved: <auyeung@mit.edu>
Her parents will speak on April 10th. Who else?
Maybe Howard Zinn, maybe Prof. Josh Cohen?

Thistle: Jonna Anderson <jonna@MIT.EDU> came from Alternative News Collective

They are THIRSTING for stuff to print and can do adds for a great
deal. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE jot down some thoughts and take
advantage of these folks who are willing to print you!!

They are also interested in learning who are good companies to
sell add space to. Share your thoughts. We should form a
data-base on this kind of info.

Also, we should form a data-base about various printing/publishing
	possibilities.

T-shirts: Felix got two types that you can buy for $12
	-anti-Monsanto
	-"I'll be a post-feminist in the post-patriarchy"
He has a cool catalogue that you may want to check out to get
	other versions

Debate/Forum: Phil is organizing a debate about WTO of SJC/CAN types
vs. radicals for capitalism. Good way to hype our club
and generate discussion on the topic.
contact Phil to partner up on this project: <plaroche@MIT.EDU>

Data-base: Greg has volunteered (Thanks Greg!!) : <gdennis@mit.edu>
Please send Greg a list of useful info sources so we can
share our sources of strength, truth and hope!

		URL's
		email lists
		journals
		books
		videos
whatever else I am too stupid to think of

This list will eventually be on SJC website. Help Greg
	make it happen!

Full contact self defense: I am working with some SOS folks and
some other women to bring full contact self-defense to
MIT. If you want to help us figure out how to get such
a thing funded and maintained, please email me: <alsmith@mit.edu>

On a similar note, I am partnering with some SOS folks to make
a "Zine" to address the BS so-called science of the guys who
claim that rape is biologically determined. If you have thoughts
or ideas or better yet, text and/or cartoons, email me!
<alsmith@mit.edu> It would be ideal to have it ready for
	Int'l Woman's Day.

That does it for today!

	Regards,
			Aimee
