We're talking about pobox.gen here. It isn't used for any system
function. It doesn't affect the delivery of mail (directly). The
only thing it does is provide the email addresses for MITDIR and the
phone book (student only?). Some addresses were showing up without a
machine name (e.g. foo_list), and wade wanted them to show up in
MITDIR and the phone book as the full address (e.g. foo_list@mit.edu).
It's been a while since I looked at this, so if I'm forgetting
something Steve (or anyone), please correct me.
