The potential fix for the Moira dealock problem has
now been checked into the moiradev tree. The
following files have been modified:
server/queries2.c
server/qvalidate.dc
gen/mailhub.dc
This revision of the server is no longer compatible with
the datbase format of the Moira db in the production
environment. This fix has been verified to not cause
any regression with respect to current fucntionality
by running the moira journal though the new server
and comparing the database with a baseline moira
db generated from "the unmodified moira".
The next steps are:
-verify the sources in moiradev build and run to
be certain that there weren't any merge or
checkin problems.
-change the format of the moira db on SOS
-update the schema scripts to use the new format.
If you need to do any testing with moira, there are
scipts available which will modify the db tables to
use the new format. (What you will see with the
old format and the new moira is "internal ingres
error" or interal moira errors"; if you experience
this please don't overwrite the changes in the tree,
just come and talk to me.).
