The state of the moira tree is as follows:

The server changes for the deadlock have not been checked in. They
are being tested at this very momemt.

The deadlock fix also requires changes to the *.dc files in the
gen directory, all of which were checked in back in August.
The exception is mailhub.dc which I have to merge and submit again because
the changes were overwritten.

Note that because the deadlock fix requires a change in format to some
of the database tables, the new moira code will not work with the
current database format, which means if you snap what's in there now,
the server will work but the programs in the gen directory will not.

Before anyone gets excited and starts lecturing, the reason that the
source tree is in this state is I tested my changes and was starting
to put them in the main moiradev src so I could do a clean build
and final test of the sources when I was informed that there was
an unrelated change which was going to be made to the moira server
for which it had been decided that this would go in before my changes,
since it required less testing.

So I had to wait...for the other fix to go in, for the live journal
and the live database snapshots to be taken so I could have a baseline
for testing, just to discover that it is not as simple as running
the journal through mrtest. Anyway, we now have a test setup which
works and produces predictable results. I should have a good idea
this week how well the testing is going and how much more time is
required before we are ready.

I'd suggest that if it's possible to wait until the end of the
week to make the descision regarding the upgrade, that would be
better, since we may be able to avoid upgrading moira twice (once just for
the sake of getting newer sources and the second time for the
deadlock fix).

Any questions? Just ask!
