I've been trying to jump-start a 350-member mailing list for associate
advisors in the freshmen advising program, and I find it extremely
annoying that a single malformed entry on the mailing list means that
the ATHENA.MIT.EDU/MIT.EDU mailers won't deliver *ANY* mail to anybody
on the mailing list at all.
The Moira mailing list is called all-associates, and currently the
malformed entry "pmaelee@" has disabled the list completely (according
to the expn/vrfy command). Yesterday I hand-corrected a bunch of
username typos by running blanche and noting which names had been
entered as STRING or LIST entries rather than USER entries and deleted
them or corrected typos where I happened to know an username to which
the error distance was small. However, "pmaelee@" did not get thus
"flagged" for special attention.
