I'm guessing that you're using a sun 4 under SunOS from the
example you give, but I suspect that has little to do with the answer
(nor, in fact, does Moira...)
mcount is usually the name used for the hook for execution
time profiling. If some thing in that link line was compiled with -p
or -pg, you'll also need to include -p or -pg in the link command line
to direct the linker to include profiling support.
