Short Version:

	How does dcm propogate /etc/passwd?

Long Version:

Hi Folks,

I'm looking at moira. Trying to figure out
if there is anything worth stealing here. And I'm confused.

I can see how a moira client, like listmaint, could
authenticate itself to the moira database server. And the
database server has reasonable proof that the client is who
he says he is.

But how does dcm actually propogate the new password file
onto the workstations that are being managed by dcm? And how does
the workstation get authentication that it is actually talking to
the appropriate and true (as opposed to a charlatan) moira database
server? I don't seem to see this in the sources I'm looking at.

In the gen/passwd.sh script, which is run on the moria
database server (right?), it executes the command
"/site/lookup/db_update". What is this program suppose to do?
And how is it suppose to do it? Is it suppose to attempt to
force feed a new passwd file to a particular workstation? Any
recommendations on how it is suppose to do this?

Confused,

Dale Moore
