Subject: rt 7.4G: blanche

System name: pit-manager
Type and version:	RTPC-ROMPC 7.4G
Display type: apa16
			megapel

What were you trying to do?
Use the "-file" option to blanche to update a mailing list
	from a file.

What's wrong:
I got an error, "blanche: Database deadlock; try again later
getting members of list faq-maintainers^J^M". Despite the
error, blanche continued, assuming that the list contained no
members and trying to add all of the people listed in the file
to the list. Since the database was deadlocked, it got a
	deadlock error on each addition.

What should have happened:
	1) There should not be a ^M after the ^J in the error message.

	2) Blanche should notice the database deadlock error and give
up on the operation it is performing, rather than assuming
that the list is empty in the database.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	N/A.

  jik
