Jack, will you be around on Tuesday?
Kim, who do you want to have watch this? Will we have the additional
memory for the server?
My plan is to have cron shut down service at 6am when the automatic
nightly backups happen. That way we will know that the database
hasn't changed since the backup. Then around 9:30 or so, we'll do the
name swap on the machines, move the UPS to the new server, and reboot
both of them. Then start the data transfer. When the database is
setup (early afternoon sometime), we'll do some testing, and hopefully
have everything back online by 3pm. I'd like to run some dcm updates
during the afternoon also to make sure that those will go smoothly.
I'll be wearing my pager for a couple of days following this update,
just in case...
