The motif interface problems you reported work on every platform but
RS/6000, and I don't know why it doesn't work there. We're looking
into it...
The scrollbar is there because output when you show stuff from the
database accumulates in that buffer, and you can scroll back through
it and select stuff by clicking in that buffer.
I fixed the typo in the help message.
