When I was in yesterday (Friday) afternoon, I noticed that
athena-as-well was catatonic. You could ping it but TCP
connection attempts were met with a deaf socket :-)
I went to the dungeon and found the machine wedged with the
usual crash error on the console. The machine however hadn't
even tried to reboot... it was just sitting there.
I gave it the boot. I have no idea how long it was in that
condition and since it was still pinging, the NOC didn't catch
it either. Thank heavens for the MX fallback to the vax!
