We're having a discussion here - faculty complain that students use chfn
to change their names to blank or false names, and they need real names
to figure out who people are from their login names, using finger.
Students complain they don't want to reveal their real names, for fear of
sexual harassment or whatever. So we're debating whether to restrict
what chfn can do, like maybe leaving last name unchanged or something.
Would like to hear what MIT's experience has been - have people complained
about chfn in this respect?
