The manual for equel with Ingres version 5 claims that you must link
programs with "-lm" for them to work. I discovered that was not
necessary here with our configuration, but I'm not terribly surprised
to see it changed. Ingres has built-in functions in the quel language
to do some of these math functions, and it may be that those functions
get pulled into your application whether you use them or not.
