Without looking at the code at all, I'd like to say that this is a
great idea. I'd like to offer the hesiod servers to serve the data
(though that will probably require re-working the code as part of
hesiod.gen, but Garry says that would be easy). The reason I suggest
this is that this is essentially the same data that they are serving
as pobox.ns.athena.mit.edu. Adding the mail.mit.edu domain to the
hesiod servers would insure that the hesiod version of the data and
DNS version of the data were always in sync, and remove the delay of a
manual propogation step to the name servers. That said, if people
feel strongly that this data should be served off of the campus
nameservers, I certainly don't want to stand in the way of getting the
mail.mit.edu domain to happen.
What does postmaster think of the idea of having this data served off
of the hesiod servers?
