Hi.
My name is Petr Swedock. I'm sysadmin/netadmin at the AI lab and I'm
setting up a database here in the lab and Bob Mahoney said I should
direct my questions here.
I'm searching for a user interface. I have Oracle 8i on a Sun Ultra5
and I want something that can speak SQL and access the DB fairly
quickly for lots of ad-hoc queries and maybe small reports. What I've seen
of moira fits my criteria. What I like about it: it's not html; it's
relatively fast; it's easy/intuitive to use.
So, my questions: Is the UI on moira portable? What's it written in?
Is the code extensible? What's the DB behind it? Will it work with
Oracle 8i? How do I get my hands on it to see if it's really what I want?
I appreciate any help.
