Actually, I am surprised that it didn't build.  But I know why.

The one in moiradev didn't link for you because the right gdb library
wasn't in your path, as you said.  Those sources do compile, as from
the source directory, there is a ../../lib/libgdb.a that is really the
moira version of the library.  To get it to link outside that tree,
you either have to explicitly name the gdb library there, or use -lmrgdb
to get the library in the release.

We should rename the library in the moira source tree as well so that
the Makefile doesn't need changing to link it outside of the rest of
the moira source tree.
